Are Slot machines really random?

One of the biggest questions to ever hit the online casino industry is ” are the slots totally random”

Most casinos you play at will state their games are totally random due to their RNG ( random number generator ) but have you ever notice how tight a slot will get right after you win a big amount? This is due to the fact that not only are slots not as random as you think, but they are set to payout a certain amount. When you see a big flashy banner stating 97.7% payout this doesn’t mean you will win 97.7% of the time. It means the slot machine you are playing will pay out 97.7% of all the money that it takes in.

Does this mean you should switch slots after a big win? Well in my experiene yes. I notice very often after a big win the slot machine I am playing at will go very dry and start sucking up my money. For that reason, I now switch right after a big win to another machine. What are the chances of you hitting a very large win twice on the same machine? Very rare. Very rare indeed.  This is good advice for both online casinos and land based casinos.

True Story

It was a tuesday afternoon and I decided to ry my luck on a few slot machines at the famous Casino Lac Du Lemay in Quebec.  as i was playing a few machnes I noticed a customer who was very upset that her machine was not paying and that she had been playing for hours. This set off an alarm in my head. When she left the machine I took over and started to play where she had left off. In less than 10 minutes on a $3 bet I had won the $15,000 jackpot. After receiving my payment I began to watch other players as they spun away on their chosen slot. As players left I would follow them with a few coins of my own. Each time winning more than I put in. The machines had not paid off for them but most certainly did for me. The slot reels may be random but the payout % was alredy set and thus allowing me to win where others had not.

Do you believe in such things as RNG as described in this video?

His explination sounds true but in reality he has no idea what he is talking about. Slot machines have a set amount they pay out and thats the bottom line. If they were 100% random the casino would go out of business very quickly.
